Babi’s work emerges from the the meeting of botany, observation, and craft. Since 2013, when she began her research into gentle gardening with the studio Os Mini Mundos, she has been devoted to understanding nature not as material alone, but as relationship — something to be studied, cared for, accompanied, and transformed.

Through miniature gardens, terrariums, and small ecosystems, she discovered a way of working with plants, flowers, mushrooms, and insects that became uniquely her own. In 2017, she founded a.folha studio, where she deepened her botanical experiments and explored techniques that extend nature’s presence, such as resin, dehydration, and photography.

Her practice unfolds through slow processes: gathering, observing, preparing, preserving, sanding, polishing, assembling. Each piece is guided by attention, patience, and study — not technique alone. Rather than seeking to control nature, her work listens to it: learning from its cycles, its architectures, and its impermanence.

From the field to the finish, from research to photography, Babi tends to every part of the studio’s work. Her creations are, above all, a way of bringing people closer to the natural world and of reminding us that the extraordinary often lives in the smallest things.
